The 2010 Open Workshop
PLEASE NOTE: Saturday rehearsals and performance will take place at the Ross School Center for Well-Being, Great Hall located at 18 Goodfriend Drive in East Hampton. The performance will take place on Saturday, October 23, from 7:00 – 8:30pm at the Ross School’s Center for Well-Being.
We are delighted to present the 2010 Playhouse Project Open Workshop, which will take place at the Playhouse and the Ross School in East Hampton on Friday-Saturday October 22-23.
At this year’s Open Workshop South Fork student and adult singers and musicians will perform the world premiere of our first Playhouse Project commission, Roger Ames’s Laudate Dominum. This is a marvelously exciting new work–a tribute to Leonard Bernstein and his Young People’s Concerts.
The complete Open Workshop repertoire combines for a beautiful musical program, and we cordially invite all to participate as performers or guests.
The Workshop/Performance will be led by Maestro Geoffrey Simon, and will include a discussion forum with Roger Ames about the composing process, focusing on Ames’s newest work, Laudate Dominum.
We look forward to welcoming you,
Playhouse Project Artistic Directors – Mirra Bank and Richard Brockman
Music Advisor and Principal Conductor – Geoffrey Simon
Swiss Global Artistic Foundation, Founder and Director – Heather DeHaes
